Announcements and Events
Sunday, June 29th
Current announcements and events:
-
PERFECT CONTRITION BOOKLET: Now available in bookstore for $2.00
each
-
SANCTUARY LAMP: Special intention
Prior announcements and reminders:
-
MODESTY REGULATION REMINDER: A reminder to all during the hot
weather, please be sure to follow the Chapel
modesty
requirements.
-
CHAPEL VEILS: Veils are provided in the chapel
vestibule for women and girls entering the chapel without any head covering.
Please be sure to return these veils after each use. Note that it is
preferred that all women and girls purchase their own veils (available at
the Bookstore) so the veils in the vestibule are available for those who
really need them.
-
CHAPEL
MEMBERSHIP: If you wish to be a member of the chapel and entitled to burial
from it, fill out a registration form. These are to be found on the table in the
vestibule and may be left at the bookstore or brought to the sacristy. Please be
sure to notify (by the same form) of any change of address or phone number as
well.
-
VOTIVE LIGHTS: The offering for the larger votive
candles we have to use is $2.00 each. We are sorry for this but the smaller
ones in plastic are unsafe to use.
-
MODESTY REGULATION: No one should come to Mass in
dungarees. Exception only for someone having to go to work in them after
Mass.
-
CELL PHONES: Please remember to shut off cell phones (or at
least turn them on vibrate) during Mass. Also please avoid taking pictures
during Mass unless otherwise approved by Bishop McKenna.
-
POOR SOULS SOCIETY: The only Mass cards ($10 offering) for the
deceased we now have are for membership in our Poor Souls Society. For these
souls a special, weekly Mass is offered. What could be better? No time
limit for membership either. If nonetheless you want an individual Mass
offered for the deceased person, please make your offering $20, and you yourself
indicate on your Poor Souls Society card that an individual Mass will also be
said for the deceased person.
-
SANCTUARY LAMP: This is the olive oil lamp always burning
on the pedestal at the Gospel side of the altar. It indicates the presence
of the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle. It is burned for the intention,
announced in the bulletin, of anyone wishing to make an offering of $5.00
for its week's supply of oil. The offering may be made at the bookstore.
-
POOR BOX: Once again we thank you for your faithful and generous
alms to our Poor Box (St. Anthony's Bread) in the vestibule. This is certainly a
source of many blessings on the chapel as well as yourselves. "Charity covers a
multitude of sins."
-
COLLECTIONS: So that we may be able to continue to meet our
expenses, please make up if possible for any Sunday collections missed. Thank
you!
-
PARKING ON SUNDAY: Please do not park in the driveway between the
chapel and the cemetery. Also, please reserve parking in the driveway between
the chapel and the convent for those that are either handicapped or who have
limited mobility. If the lot is full behind the chapel, you may park across the
Stepney Green in the Country Pizza or Peoples' Bank parking lots. Thank you.
-
LOST & FOUND: Please be sure to retrieve any items left in the
chapel from the "Lost & Found" window sill in the hall. Due to the clutter there
we will have to dispose of any items not reclaimed after two weeks. Take special
care to put your name in missals and prayer books!
-
ITEMS TO BE BLESSED: As far as possible, please leave
rosaries and any other articles to be blessed at the bookstore, to be picked up
the following Sunday.
