Regulations Regarding Sacraments
Baptism
Sponsors must be traditional Catholics, not attending the Novus Ordo
Mass in their parishes. They and all attending the Baptism should be informed of
the chapel's dress code. Those immodestly dressed stand to be excluded. The
customary stole fee is $20. Parents are reminded of their serious obligation to
have children baptized as soon as they can safely be brought to the chapel.
Confession
Confessions only of those regularly attending the traditional Latin
Mass, or otherwise intending to do so.
Marriage
Only for those regularly attending Mass at the chapel. The dress
regulations of the chapel must be included with the invitations and the bridal
party's dresses pre-approved by the Sisters. Unless the family of both parties
to the marriage belong to the chapel, there can be only the wedding ceremony
itself and the Blessed Sacrament transferred to the sacristy. If there is to be
a Nuptial Mass, it will have to be scheduled for a weekday. The stole fee for
weddings is $50.
Funerals
Only those who have regularly attended the chapel can be buried from it;
that is to say, have a Requiem Mass with the casket present. Let all be
forewarned that no one will be admitted to the Mass who is immodestly dressed
(slacks excepted). Any failure by the ushers to enforce this will result in a
new rule of no one but members of the chapel (properly dressed) being allowed at
a funeral Mass. The stole fee for a funeral is $100 if the priest is able to go
to the cemetery, otherwise $50.
Sick Calls
Please inform us of chapel members hospitalized. Only in danger of death,
however, can Holy Communion (with the Last Rites) be taken to hospitals and
nursing homes, due to the lack of order and neatness commonly found in them.
Communion is otherwise taken to shut-ins only if they themselves request it.
Mass Intentions
The usual stipend (offering) for a Mass is $15. Because of the large number
of requests, no dated Masses can be accepted. When necessary to avoid prolonged
delays in satisfying intentions, they are transferred to other priests who say
the traditional Latin Mass (without the una cum).
